Congratulations to Red Rocket Brewing on securing a win at our (and Mellow Mushroom’s) third annual homebrew competition, Iron Brew!

2014’s secret ingredient was chocolate, and these guys threw the judging panel a curve ball by brewing a low-ABV American Pale Ale. Originally called Achocolypse, this beer packs a serious chocolate punch thanks to aging on Venezuelan Ocumare Cocoa Nibs. The slight bitterness from the nibs plays very nicely with the Northern Brewer hop addition, making for a rock solid Pale Ale that keeps you coming back for more.
