The Flanders Red that we have here is a first at Holy City Brewing. It’s our first completely barrel-fermented sour. We brewed it in stainless on our system, but put it into a bunch of barrels with Flanders yeast. We’ve got a bunch of kettle-soured ales and even a lager under our belts, but we’re not done experimenting and brewing new styles because we know that’s what keeps you coming back for more.

This batch brings a deep, crimson hue to the eye, and punches the tongue with a very tart, sour twang. We bottle-conditioned it to get a nice carb on the beer, increasing its bubbliness and showcasing the crisp flavors that make this one shine. This beer is a product of Vienna, German Pilsner, Caramunich, Munich, Caraaroma and Flaked Wheat.
