Madam Basil Release Party at Redux

December 11, 2017 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Holy City Brewing is now canning their basil saison, Madam Basil, and we’re throwing a release party in collaboration with SEVEN – A Visual Craftsman. Connor Lock from SEVEN designed the can art for the beer, and the beer is part of the BREWSTER Series, a Charleston-based organization started by Sarah Gayle McConnell of Tradesman Brewing Company. McConnell began the organization to raise money for female-focused nonprofits by getting women involved with the local craft brewing scene, and Madam Basil is HCB’s addition to the BREWSTER Series.
The party, held at Redux Contemporary Art Center, is free(!!!) to enter, and takes place on Monday, December 11th from 7-10pm with a suggested donation. We’ll be hearing from representatives at Holy City Brewing, Sarah Gayle herself, and the people from My Sister’s House, an organization that helps battered women and children get out of their bad situations and back on their feet. Beers will cost $5, and half of the beer sales will go towards My Sister’s House, and purchase of your first beer will cover a four-course meal ticket, with food provided by Chef John O’Brien of Live Tastefully, compliments of SEVEN.
There will be a toast after our speakers get through, where everyone will participate in a group photo, and food will commence for the latter half of the night. There will also be a table where guests can donate directly to My Sister’s House. All of us have worked hard to get this beer into a can and out on the open market, and we look forward to sharing it with everyone and educating people about it’s wonderful cause. There will also be art from all of the Redux residents for sale, and they will receive 100% commission for any pieces that they sell.
