We decided to get with our buddies from across the river, Frothy Beard Brewing Company, to brew some collaboration beers, because it’s always more fun brewing something in the fellowship of nice, bearded brew-making brethren. We decided that it would be fun if we took a shot and brewing one of their beers, Albatross, and we let them do what they will with one of our recipes as well.

Albatross was originally an English IPA, and we decided to hop it up to the max with CTZ, El Dorado and Cascade hops, throwing bucket after bucket into the brew to make sure that this one stung on the nose, and tickled the tongue with delight. Malt build includes Pale, Flaked Oats and Carahell, which gives this one a body to deal with the hop-bite for a nice, balanced brew. It’s got some fruitiness, and it’s got the bitterness from alpha-acid hops to make any hop head drink a pint of the Fat Albatross and ascend into a flavor explosion of pure delight. It’s always a pleasure doing collaborations, especially when you’re brewing them with some of your longest-standing beer buddies!
