When making a hop-forward one-off beer, sometimes we need look no further than one of our heroes, Brian Fantana, for inspiration. Our Double IPA, Sex Panther, was our first beer inspired by the storied cologne collection of this beacon of journalism. For this sequel, his protection collection takes center stage.

The Gentle Mongoose is a huge hoppy red, with a bit of spice coming from the Vienna malt and an out-of-control nose thanks to a Cascade and Centennial dry-hop. While the original Gentle Mongoose is made from actual mongoose hair, and therefore doesn’t work at all, we’re confident that our Gentle Mongoose will get the job done.
